Scott Caan Will Rock The Kasbah Instead Of Shia LaBeouf

After dropping out of Barry Levinson's Rock the Kasbah, producers have found a replacement for Shia LaBeouf in the form of Scott Caan. The actor will play a con man in the film, which revolves around a has-been music manager (Bill Murray) who travels to Afghanistan for a USO tour with his last remaining client. While there, he ends up abandoned in Kabul and stumbles across a young girl with extraordinary talent. Penniless and without a passport, he decides to manage her and puts her on the Afghanistan version of American Idol.

After dropping out of Barry Levinson’s Rock the Kasbah, producers have found a replacement for Shia LaBeouf in the form of Scott Caan. The actor will play an ammo-dealing con man in the film, which revolves around a has-been music manager (Bill Murray) who travels to Afghanistan for a USO tour with his last remaining client. While there, he ends up abandoned in Kabul and stumbles across a young girl with extraordinary talent. Penniless and without a passport, he decides to manage her and puts her on the Afghanistan version of American Idol.

With a cast that also includes Bruce Willis, Danny McBride and Kate Hudson, among others, my hopes are high for this comedy. While I still do find LaBeouf to be an enjoyable screen presence, I think Caan is a more than suitable replacement, having proven his comedic chops on many occasions during his stint on HBO’s Entourage. He hasn’t had a major film role in a while, either, so I’m definitely excited to see him putting his talents to use on the big screen again.

With Rock The Kasbah set to enter production shortly, it seems like the cast is now finalized. If anything should change though, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Tell us, are you happy to see Scott Caan replacing Shia LaBeouf?
