Stranger Things Star Wants To Play Spider-Man

Among many other things, one of the reasons people absolutely fell in love with Stranger Things was due to its wonderful cast. Made up mostly of newcomers, every actor shined in their role, giving us great characters who viewers just couldn't get enough of, especially when it came to the four main children - Mike, Lucas, Dustin and Eleven. It's no surprise then that the individuals who brought them to life are now finding themselves in the spotlight, with a few of them already snagging some high-profile roles.

Among many other things, one of the reasons people absolutely fell in love with Stranger Things was due to its wonderful cast. Made up mostly of newcomers, every actor shined in their role, giving us great characters who viewers just couldn’t get enough of, especially when it came to the four main children – Mike, Lucas, Dustin and Eleven. It’s no surprise then that the individuals who brought them to life are now finding themselves in the spotlight, with a few of them already snagging some high-profile roles.

Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, will be seen later this year in It, while Millie Bobby Brown, who turned Eleven into a fan-favorite, recently signed on for Godzilla: King of Monsters. Now, it seems like another one of the youngsters is looking to make some moves, as Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) took to Instagram this week to express interest in playing the Miles Morales version of Spider-Man.

While there are currently no plans to introduce him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it also hasn’t been ruled out yet, and fans are still hoping to see him swing by at some point in the future. After all, he’s a hugely popular character, and the studio would be foolish not to bring him to the big screen. There’s no telling if that’ll eventually happen, but if it does, McLaughlin would certainly be a solid choice to play the part. He’s the right age and with his star now on the rise, Marvel would be smart to pick him up soon before he becomes even busier and more in demand.

That being said, given that Miles only becomes Spider-Man in the comics after Peter dies, this probably won’t be happening, as we can’t imagine the studio killing off the current Spidey given that they just introduced him to audiences last year. Not only that, but seeing as how popular he already is, he won’t be going anywhere any time soon. Of course, Marvel could always depart from the source material and find another way to introduce Miles, but for now, it’s hard to say if that’d be a viable option.

All we can really do is speculate at this point, but there’s no denying that Caleb McLaughlin would do a great job in bringing the Morales version of Spider-Man to life. Even if that doesn’t end up happening though, one thing’s for certain, and that’s that the Stranger Things actor is definitely going places.
