After having the kind of 2015 that she did, it was obvious that Mija would hit the ground running in 2016 as well. The rising talent may have yet to put out an original track since the beginning of the new year, but what she’s delivered for her remix of DJ Snake’s “Middle” makes for just as memorable of a release.
The vocal track of the original has been pitch shifted a couple octaves higher, and the soothing synth plucks have been replaced by some that give the song a distinctly future bass leaning. While trap seems to have landed neatly into the category of passé, it stands to reason that we might be able to expect more future bass from artists like Mija in 2016.
