The Emmy Awards will be handed out tonight, Sunday, September 18th, and it will be another good year for HBO, Modern Family and Julianna Marguilies. Jane Lynch will be your host beginning at 8:00 PM ET, 7 PM CT on Fox.

Check out our predictions below.

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a mini-series or Movie

Evan Rachel Wood Mildred Pierce
Melissa Leo Mildred Pierce
Mare Winningham Mildred Pierce
Maggie Smith Downton Abbey
Eileen Atkins Upstairs Downstairs

Take Maggie Smith as the Mildred Pierce nominees split the vote.

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Mini-series or Movie

Guy Pearce Mildred Pierce
Bryan F. O’Byrne Mildred Pierce
Tom Wilkinson The Kennedys
Paul Giamatti Too Big to Fail
James Woods Too Big to Fail

Take Paul Giamatti and the star power vote.

Outstanding Lead Actor in a Mini-series or Movie

Greg Kinnear The Kennedys
Barry Pepper The Kennedys
Edgar Ramirez Carlos
Idris Elba Luther
William Hurt Too Big to Fail
Laurence Fishburne Thurgood

Take the upset, Edgar Ramirez was stunning in Carlos.

Outstanding Leading Actress in a Mini-series or Movie

Kate Winslet Mildred Pierce
Elizabeth McGovern Downton Abbey
Diane Lane Cinema Verite
Taraji P. Henson Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story
Jean Marsh Upstairs, Downstairs

Kate Winslet is the favorite and will win.

Outstanding TV Mini-series or Movie

Mildred Pierce
Cinema Verite
Downton Abbey
The Kennedys
The Pillars of the Earth
Too Big to Fail

Never bet against HBO in this category, the problem is which HBO movie to vote for? Go with Mildred Pierce.

Outstanding Reality Show

The Amazing Race
American Idol
Dancing with the Stars
Project Runway
So You Think You Can Dance
Top Chef

The buzz is that this could be the year for American Idol. I will bet with the buzz and take Idol.

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy

Chris Colfer Glee
Jesse Tyler Ferguson Modern Family
Ed O’Neill Modern Family
Eric Stonestreet Modern Family
Ty Burrell Modern Family
Jon Cryer Two and a Half Men

Four nominees from the same show in the same category is a bizarre occurrence. Having all four in the category indicates to me that anything could happen here and since neither Colfer or Cryer have nearly as much buzz as the Modern Family gang, bet on one of the MF’ers to win. I will go with Ed O’Neill to get the old TV veteran vote.

Outstanding Actor in a Comedy

Alec Baldwin 30 Rock
Louis C.K Louie
Steve Carell The Office
Johnny Galecki The Big Bang Theory
Matt Leblanc Episodes
Jim Parsons The Big Bang Theory

Go with Steve Carell with the sympathy vote.

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy

Jane Lynch Glee
Betty White Hot in Cleveland
Julie Bowen Modern Family
Sofia Vergara Modern Family
Kristen Wiig Saturday Night Live
Jane Krakowski 30 Rock

Bet on the Modern Family tidal wave and Julie Bowen.

Outstanding Actress in a Comedy

Edie Falco Nurse Jackie
Tina Fey 30 Rock
Laura Linney The Big C
Melissa McCarthy Mike & Molly
Martha Plimpton Raising Hope
Amy Poehler Parks and Recreation

It’s time to recognize the fact that Amy Poehler may be the funniest woman on television.

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama

Peter Dinklage Game of Thrones
Josh Charles The Good Wife
Alan Cumming The Good Wife
Walton Goggins Justified
John Slattery Mad Men
Andre Braugher Men of a Certain Age

I would love to see Andre Braugher get the win for his wonderfully understated work on Men of a Certain Age but my money is on Peter Dinklage for the buzz heavy Game of Thrones.

Outstanding Actor in a Drama

Steve Buscemi Boardwalk Empire
Kyle Chandler Friday Night Lights
Michael C. Hall Dexter
John Hamm Mad Men
Hugh Laurie House
Timothy Olyphant Justified

Steve Buscemi, no contest.

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama

Kelly McDonald Boardwalk Empire
Archie Panjabi The Good Wife
Christine Baranski The Good Wife
Margo Martindale Justified
Michelle Forbes The Killing
Christina Hendricks Mad Men

Boardwalk Empire will be on a roll tonight. I’ll pick Kelly McDonald.

Outstanding Actress in a Drama

Kathy Bates Harry’s Law
Connie Britton Friday Night Lights
Mirielle Enos The Killing
Mariska Hargitay Law & Order SVU
Julianna Margulies The Good Wife
Elizabeth Moss Mad Men

Julianna Margulies is a no-brainer.

Outstanding Comedy Series

Big Bang Theory
Glee
Modern Family
The Office
Parks and Recreation
30 Rock

Another no-brainer, Modern Family for the win.

Outstanding Drama Series

Game of Thrones
Boardwalk Empire
The Good Wife
Mad Men
Dexter
Friday Night Lights

Tough call between Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire. Go with Boardwalk to appeal more to the older Emmy voters.
