The Flash Season 4 Trailer Drops, Neil Sandilands Cast As The Thinker

After The Flash's season 3 finale left everybody reeling upon seeing Barry Allen willingly enter the Speed Force in a sort of self-imposed exile, some fans were left wondering if he'd ever make his return. Well, we obviously will see more of series lead Grant Gustin, otherwise we wouldn't have ourselves a TV show, but it looks like the producers are in no rush to arrive back at the status quo. Instead, it looks like they'll let the story unfold organically.

That said, it didn’t come as much of a surprise seeing Iris West taking charge by emerging as the new leader of Team Flash, something we only recently learned would be happening. Furthermore, it looks like there’ll be a lot of emotional scenes shared between her and Cisco as they attempt to bring Barry back to Earth-1.

And although we see Wally West wearing only his Kid Flash threads in the footage provided, we have a sneaking suspicion that’s him in the red Flash suit near the end of the trailer. After all, it’s hard to forget seeing those recently leaked set photos showing Keiynan Lonsdale sporting a speedster costume that’s more of the scarlet variety.

In addition to those visual treats, it’s great to finally put a face to the menace knowing that Neil Sandilands (The 100, NCIS) has been cast as this year’s big bad, the Thinker. Granted, we’ve known said villain would be appearing for some time now, but it’s nice to no longer be left in the dark in that regard.

The Flash returns for its fourth season on Tuesday, October 10 on The CW.
