John Cena Makes The Leap From SmackDown To Saturday Night Live In Fun Promo Video

It was back in 2000 that The Rock first hosted Saturday Night Live, and while Dwayne Johnson has returned to the show on a number of occasions since, it’s now John Cena’s turn. One of the most iconic WWE Superstars of all-time, Cena has been doing a lot more in Hollywood lately, something which has been helped by successful cameos in the likes of Trainwreck and Daddy’s Home.

Initially, his acting career didn’t go particularly well (something which has been the case for most wrestlers outside of Johnson), but that’s starting to change, and hosting Saturday Night Live is a very big deal for both him and wrestling fans.

A promo marking the occasion has now been released and surprisingly, it doesn’t shy away from the SmackDown Live Superstar’s WWE persona. As a result, we can probably expect Cena’s wrestling career to come under fire this weekend, which should be a lot of fun to watch.

Given that many credit Johnson’s appearance on the beloved series for catapulting his big screen career, this instalment of Saturday Night Live could very well do the same for Cena – it also may bring an end to his time in the squared circle. Time will tell on that front, but check out the promo above and let us know your thoughts on the wrestler’s Saturday Night Live gig in the comments section below.
