Shooting is already underway on Spider-Man: Homecoming, as proven by those recent set photos we saw yesterday, but the cast continues to grow, with word that stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress has now signed on in an undisclosed role.

Given that we still know very little about the film, it’s impossible to say who he’ll be playing or how big of a part he’ll have. Regardless, Buress’ presence will definitely be welcome in Marvel and Sony’s upcoming reboot. In all likelihood, he was added to the cast to inject some more humor into the movie, as we’ve heard that it’s going to have a lighter tone than some of the other Marvel flicks, which makes sense given that Spidey is known for his comedic quips.

After all, we’ve all seen how funny he can be with his scenes in Captain America: Civil War, so having that same sense of humor and playfulness show up here is certainly something we look forward to.

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland in the title role, with support from Zendaya, Michael Barbieri, Tony Revolori, Kenneth Choi, Martin Starr, Donald Glover, Logan Marshall-Green, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr. and Michael Keaton. The film will hit theatres on July 7, 2017.
