Latest Fantasy News: Liam Hemsworth’s time as Geralt may be short-lived as the ‘Warrior Nun’ fandom continues to demand attention

Hemsworth's stint as the White Wolf will be shorter than Cavill's.

The broken remains of a slew of fantasy releases litter the Netflix cutting room floor, but Warrior Nun may soon separate itself from their midst.

The popular release was canceled in late 2022, and in the months since has seen a tireless ongoing campaign push for its return. Fans don’t care if the show’s third season comes to Netflix or another streaming service, they just want more Warrior Nun

Another Netflix favorite is also in hot water, but not over a cancelation. No, fans of the platform’s Witcher adaptation remain disgruntled over the recasting of the show’s main character, Geralt of Rivia, and it seems their complaints may have made an impact after all. Henry Cavill isn’t headed back to the Continent any time soon, but fan backlash may have doomed Liam Hemsworth’s run as the White Wolf anyway.

Netflix just can’t seem to catch a break, but it’s entirely the streamer’s own fault. The platform’s decision to seemingly ignore backlash regarding Wednesday’s Percy Hynes White is likewise leading to pushback, particularly in the wake of Adult Swim’s quick action regarding Justin Roiland. Should Netflix take the hint and finally ditch White, we’ve got some stellar replacements for Xavier Thorpe.

Recasting Percy Hynes White’s Wednesday character could be a breeze

Concerning reports about Wednesday’s Percy Hynes White have fans of the Netflix series calling for the actor to be fired. If he were to be removed from the season two cast, we’ve got a few actors in mind who could perfectly replace him. Actors like Stranger Things favorite Finn Wolfhard, Umbrella Academy’s Aidan Gallagher, or Shazam!’s Asher Angel could all take on the role of Xavier Thorpe with little effort, allowing Netflix to side-step White’s problematic past.

Liam Hemsworth won’t be Geralt for long

Fresh reports are indicating that Liam Hemsworth, who replaced Henry Cavill in Netflix’s The Witcher, won’t be in the role for long. The show, which is set to air season three — Cavill’s last as Geralt of Rivia — later this summer, is officially set to end after five seasons. That gives Hemsworth only two seasons as the White Wolf, and that’s if fans even show up for seasons four and five.

The Warrior Nun fandom might be serving up an example of what it takes to save a show

Warrior Nun isn’t saved just yet, but if the show’s passionate fanbase has anything to say about it, it’ll be confirmed for season three within a few weeks. The ongoing campaign absolutely refuses to be ignored — even employing the use of a carefully-placed billboard — and, as support continues to ramp up online, it has once again pushed #SaveWarriorNun to trend on Twitter.
