How much is Pedro Pascal paid for ‘The Last of Us?’

You wouldn't believe how much Pedro Pascal earns per episode in 'The Last of Us.'

HBO’s The Last Of Us became an instant hit, with a second season greenlit when the series just began. The show is based on the video game of the same name and told a story about a former father’s journey across America, with a very special young girl tagging along since she may be the answer to saving the world from an infected fungus.

Since this is a live-action adaptation and not a video game, this meant that the stars of this apocalyptic series would be paid more compared to their voice-actor counterparts. Not to mention, the show would have received a higher budget compared to the games. And knowing how popular Pedro Pascal is thanks to his role in Disney’s The Mandalorian, it comes as no surprise that HBO would give him a fair wage as well

So how much did Pascal earn during season one of The Last of Us?

How much is Pedro Pascal paid for The Last of Us?

Pascal has a reported net worth of $10 million. And while he doesn’t always disclose how much he’s earned in projects he’s involved in, he did joke about how he’s “rolling in cash” thanks to his newfound success. Interestingly, the budget for The Last of Us is slightly higher compared to Game of Thrones, with a reported cost between $10-14 million, according to GQ.

Fortunately, Pascal’s paycheck for The Last of Us was revealed. Variety reported that the Chilean actor has earned around $600K per episode, making him one of the highest-paid actors on TV. In comparison, Henry Cavill earns around $400K per episode during his time in The Witcher, and Bryan Cranston earns around $750K per episode in Your Honor.

Pascal claims that production for The Last of Us season two would begin sometime this year. And unfortunately, it’s currently unknown how many episodes this actor will be in due to speculation that season two will be based on The Last of Us: Part II. Regardless, HBO has paid its leading star very well that it’s no wonder he joked about rolling in cash. Fingers crossed he receives a slightly higher paycheck, even if it might not look like he will be a prominent character in the show’s second season.
