As the nation reels from the Covenant School shooting, Marjorie Taylor Greene focuses on gun dealers’ rights

The far-right politician spent the latter of the morning lamenting over an ATF raid in her home state of Georgia.

As Americans across the nation grapple with yet another mass shooting, this time taking place at a private Christian academy in Nashville, Tennessee, claiming the lives of six people, including three children, representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) appears to be turning her attention to other matters after the Republican pundit was spotted sharing news regarding a recent raid of one of the largest gun dealers in the country.

A little over half an hour after the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department confirmed that the 28-year-old who opened fire at Covenant School with two “assault-style” rifles and a pistol was dead, Greene used her platform to draw attention to an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearm, and Explosives (ATF)-conducted raid that took place in her home state.

At 11:11am., the known far-right conspiracy theorist claimed that members of the Southern state were subjected to an “unprecedented ATF inspection at longtime and well respected Adventure Outdoors in Smyrna, Ga.”

Greene revealed that “After we questioned their motives and informed them of Oversight and Republican-controlled Appropriations, they all left,” before signing off “Protect the Second Amendment and the law abiding businesses.”

At 12:53 pm, the QAnon supporter shared a video of that encounter with an ATF agent, still arguing that the visit was “unprecedented,” adding that  “the sheer amount of agents from the bluest parts of the country is unusual and unnecessary to conduct a routine audit.”

Greene’s reaction to the Covenant School shooting arrived an hour later, when she sent her prayers to the victims and families in a lengthy statement addressing the horrific incident.

“Another absolutely horrific needless tragedy. Children and school staff should always be protected the same way politicians, money, precious stones, and gold are protected, but even more so, by good guys with guns,” Greene wrote.

The politician who supported former President Donald Trump’s false claims of a stolen election went on to praise “God for good guys with guns and thank God a good guy with a gun killed the evil mentally deranged shooter today.”

Greene also attacked President Joe Biden’s push for gun control, dangerously suggesting that Biden’s “gun free school zones have endangered children at schools leaving them as innocent targets of sick horrible disturbed people ever since he worked as a Senator to pass this foolish law.”

The politician’s actions appeared to anger some, including Democratic politician Marcus Flowers who called out Greene, writing on Twitter, “As America grieves over yet another school shooting, this time in Nashville, Marjorie Taylor Greene is trying to prevent the ATF from doing their job.”

He added, “Common Sense Gun Legislation is necessary. We must do something to protect our children.”

Greene has not yet responded to Flowers’ comment. However, according to her Twitter activity, the controversial politician spent the remainder of the day criticizing the Biden administration.
