‘Wednesday’ re-emerges on the Netflix charts to lodge new milestone

It's been 5 months since 'Wednesday' was released and it continues to find success.

The Netflix hit series Wednesday continues to break records since its debut back in November 2022. The series has managed to make its way back to the Netflix charts, and while it didn’t dominate in terms of last week’s viewing hours, the show managed to achieve something that only a select few shows have managed to pull off.

According to this week’s Netflix Global Top 10 charts, Wednesday sits at number 10 after over 9.5 million hours of this show were viewed during the past week. This makes it the 20th time the show has made it to the Netflix top charts. Other shows that managed to pull this off was the 2021 South Korean drama Squid Game back in mid-June 2022.

Wednesday‘s chart domination started last week, when the series had over 10 million hours viewed prior to its return to the top 10 charts. While it is impressive to see this series continue to receive the love and attention since its initial release, its viewed hours aren’t high enough compared to other titles such as Beef with over 42.8 million hours, Love is Blind season four with 39.4 million hours, and American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing with 13.1 million hours viewed.

Following the show’s streaming success last year, it has been confirmed that Wednesday season two has been greenlit, with the series’ star, Jenna Ortega rumored to be receiving a bump up to executive producer. According to the actress, she isn’t keen on having Wednesday have a love interest and plans to have that plot line shut down in the show’s next installment. Dates for the release of Wednesday season two remain unknown.
