‘It was insane’: Cristo Fernández describes the emotional intensity of last day on ‘Ted Lasso’ season 3 set

Possibly the end of a very nice era.

It’s possibly the end of a very pleasant TV era now that Ted Lasso could potentially be coming to an end after its fourth season. One of the show’s stars, Cristo Fernández (Dani Rojas), recently shared what the last day on the set was like.

Fernández spoke with Comicbook.com about the emotional experience the cast went through when filming wrapped. He said the experience was “insane” and that there were “so many tears of happiness” and everyone was crying. Jason Sudeikis, who plays the main character, gave a speech with showrunners that was “very, very powerful.”

“I will always remember that,” he said. Sudeikis recently revealed that the third season finished the story he wanted to tell with the show, so right now we don’t know what’s going to happen past May 31 when the last episode airs.

Brendan Hunt, series co-creator and Lasso’s trusty sidekick Coach Beard, also recently shared his feelings about the season coming to an end.

“That last day definitely felt like graduation and everyone getting ready to leave campus and will we see each other again and such,” Hunt said. “I mean that in the most wonderful way. It was very sentimental. And them Brits, they’re not that sentimental, but ours were.”

Fernández said that despite the show possibly ending, he’s holding out hope for more. “I know this is the end of a three season circle, but there’s always the belief, I want to believe that there’s more.”

If there’s not, he’s “forever grateful” to be a part of the show and the opportunities it afforded him.

“I’m looking forward first to seeing the reaction of the fans with the end of this third season. Let’s see what happens. As I said, I want to believe, I hope there’s more.”

New Ted Lasso episodes stream on Wednesdays on Apple TV Plus.
