Brian Cox has a heartfelt message for Succession fans following the series finale last night. The actor’s closing note not only showed his gratitude but also shared his love for everyone involved in the HBO drama.
The touching message was shared on Cox’s recent Instagram story, where he thanked everyone who supported him and the people behind Succession. He also claimed that his time in the HBO drama was “the greatest work experience” he ever had and that it was very memorable.
“We have now come to the end. And what has been, in my career, certainly the greatest work experience ever. The harmony between crew and cast was truly amazing. It was on it’s way to become a great series but the Love and commitment from crew to cast and writers, made it memorable. I would like to thank all of us in the making and creating of this show from the very bottom of my heart.”
Cox played Logan Roy in Succession, the patriarch of the Roy family and owner of Waystar Royco. Throughout the show, he was seen as egocentric and cunning, yet he was able to run a multi-billion dollar company. However, he saw his adult children more as “co-workers” and could see his actions towards them as abuse.
During the show’s final season, Logan died in episode 3, a twist event that Cox thought was “too early” to happen in the show. His death was very emotional since the Roy siblings had their final moments with their father over the phone and were unable to attend Connor’s wedding. His character made an appearance during the series finale, when the Roy siblings watched an old recording of their father laughing and having fun, something that’s very out of character.
So what’s next for Cox? According to the actor’s IMDb page, he’s going to star in The Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim as Helm Hammerhand. He’s also set to appear in a handful of other projects, such as The Electric State, 99’s Road to a Million, and The Parenting, just to name a few.
