Netflix’s next ‘Tudum’ event teases sneak peeks at ‘Rebel Moon,’ ‘One Piece,’ ‘Extraction 2,’ and more

It's hype time, baby!

These days, if you are a big company, you have to have your own event to promote your upcoming projects. Microsoft does it with the Xbox, networks do so with their yearly upfronts ahead of fall premieres, and now, it’s Netflix’s time for the marketing limelight.

Earlier today, the streaming service uploaded a trailer for their annual “Tudum” event to their official YouTube channel. While last year’s gathering of modern performers and faded theatrical stars looking for a second life was virtual, this year’s event appears to be a live gathering in Brazil — and at the event, audiences are apparently going to see stuff from Stranger Things and even Heartstopper.

Of course, no public relations marketing gathering in the streaming age is complete without surprises and obvious inclusions, and it appears Netflix is going to have these staples for fans, too. In the video, Arnold Schwarzenegger says people should trust him when he says they do not know what is coming, and then Chris Hemsworth promises more of his upcoming Extraction 2 before a variety of stars come on in outfits ranging from semi-formal to downright casual to say the names of their jobs to the cameras.

Yes, Berlin, Bridgerton, Cobra Kai, Fubar, and other projects like Rebel Moon and Wednesday will all be up for hyping. No clips from some of these are included, but towards the end, we do see brief snippets of Rebel Moon and the imminent They Cloned Tyrone. Some things are probably not even being mentioned and, ultimately, all audiences can do is hope Hemsworth is being truthful.

“[There are] unexpected surprises around every corner.”

Netflix’s latest Tudum event will take place on June 17. It can be watched here on their official YouTube channel.
