Frantic Reddit post begs for help finding missing woman at Disney World, hours later a body is found in the park

Summer Equitz left her home unexpectedly and flew to Disney World by herself.

Earlier this week authorities confirmed that 31-year-old Summer Equitz had sadly taken her own life while at Walt Disney World in Orlando. However hours before Equitz was identified, a post on Reddit caught many people’s attention as the poster begged for help in finding her.

The post has since been deleted and authorities have yet to confirm whether it is in fact linked to the death of Equitz. However, the post supposedly described Equitz as a “missing person” with the poster claiming that Equitz had flown to Florida “without telling us,” adding that they  “[J]ust want her found,” as per People.

Numerous similarities between details the poster shared line up with Summer Equitz, leading many to believe that the poster was either a family member or a friend. After the news broke, people on Reddit began sharing their condolences. “Terrible ending to this. Sorry for your loss,” wrote one.

The post was taken down shortly after. The identity of the Reddit user is yet to be confirmed.

What happened to Summer Equitz?

The first reports of Equitz’s death came on Tuesday, October 14. Her death was caused by multiple blunt impact injuries after she allegedly jumped from the Contemporary Resort Hotel. At the time, rumors were circulating that she had died in a freak accident, supposedly being struck by the monorail in the park. However, a spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office denied those claims. Her death has been ruled a suicide with authorities confirming her identity the following day.

In the days since, more details about who Equitz was and what her personal life was like have come to light. An article from the New York Post reported that Summer had announced she was pregnant with her first child just 10 months before she disappeared from her home in Naperville, Illinois.

Summer Equitz and her husband, Nico Danilovich, had also just celebrated their honeymoon at the same park a mere two months before this recent tragedy.

The Post reported that there had been no updates on her pregnancy or marriage since the couple had shared a photo with sonogram pictures ten months ago.

Equitz had been a huge lover of all things Disney as evidenced by the fact she and her husband celebrated their honeymoon there. It’s unclear at the moment what prompted her to fly out there alone but judging by the Reddit post it seems the people close to her were already concerned for her wellbeing.

Tributes for Summer have been pouring in from strangers across the globe since the news broke.
