Ex-Trump lawyer and press secretary both say something is seriously wrong with the president after bizarre briefing

Even his former staff see the deterioration.

Two former Trump administration officials publicly raised serious concerns about President Donald Trump’s mental sharpness after his latest press conference. The event was meant to mark one year since Trump returned to office, but it quickly became the center of attention for different reasons.

According to HuffPost, former White House attorney Ty Cobb and former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham both described the president’s appearance as troubling and unusual. Cobb, who now criticizes the administration, said Trump’s cognitive decline is “palpable.” When asked if he meant Trump’s usual controversial personality or actual mental decline, Cobb was direct.

“I think there’s been a significant decline,” Cobb said. “He’s always been driven by narcissism. But I think the dementia and the cognitive decline are palpable, as do many experts, including many physicians.” Cobb also claimed he didn’t think “anybody outside of the United States” believes Trump is sane. However, Trump has not been formally diagnosed with any cognitive disorder.

Former insiders are noticing changes in Trump’s behavior and energy

Stephanie Grisham, who also served as press secretary during Trump’s first term, shared her observations on X. She said the press conference was “bizarre even for him” and had “all the usual rambling, off-topic tales, half-truths, lies, ‘I’ve fixed everything, no one has ever seen anything like it’ stuff.”

But Grisham pointed out something different this time. She said the event was “low-energy & feels like he’s…mentally slipping. “This suggests a shift from Trump’s usual high-energy style to something more concerning. This presser is bizarre even for him. It’s all the usual rambling, off-topic tales, half-truths, lies, “I’ve fixed everything – no one has ever seen anything like it” stuff…but it’s low-energy & feels like he’s…mentally slipping. Congress-plz wake up. Plz. #EmperorHasNoClothes,” she wrote.

These comments come as more people question Trump’s health and mental fitness. Last week, a medical analyst said Trump should get a new medical evaluation after he appeared to fall asleep during a public event. Experts have also raised concerns about Trump’s unusual behavior in the Oval Office.

The same analyst later called for a congressional inquiry into the president’s “presidential fitness.” The pressure continues to build as former insiders openly discuss cognitive decline. Questions about his daily diet and eating habits have also emerged as part of the broader health discussion.

When people who once worked closely with the president start using words like “dementia,” it’s clear the concerns are serious. The conversation about Trump’s fitness for office doesn’t seem like it will go away anytime soon.
