Marjorie Taylor Greene calls Donald Trump’s grand promises ‘all a lie,’ exposes who the government is really serving

Wasn't she a part of this very government?

Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is making huge waves after calling President Trump’s signature Make America Great Again slogan a “lie,” claiming the administration is primarily focused on serving its wealthy financial backers. This is a massive shift in tone, especially since Greene had been one of the president’s most loyal supporters for years.

Speaking in a Wednesday interview, Greene didn’t hold back when discussing the administration’s priorities. “I think people are realizing it was all a lie. It was a big lie for the people. What MAGA is really serving in this administration, who they’re serving, is their big donors,” she stated.

According to The Hill, it seems Greene believes the true beneficiaries of the movement aren’t everyday Americans. She pointed directly to the massive financial benefactors who contribute heavy funds to the president’s political action committees, the upcoming 250th anniversary celebration of America’s founding, and the construction of the White House ballroom.

She may have a point

These are huge, expensive endeavors, and it’s true the president has actively encouraged wealthy sponsors to provide private contributions for these projects since the start of his second administration. “Those are the people that get the special favors. They get the government contracts, they get the pardons, or somebody they love or one of their friends gets a pardon,” Greene explained.

Greene also slammed President Trump for prioritizing foreign policy over pressing domestic issues. She feels it’s the major corporations and foreign countries determining what’s “best for the world,” rather than what’s best for American citizens.

She connected this global focus to current military conflicts, claiming a “new way of doing business” is playing out right now. She believes the administration is seeing “war on behalf of Israel” and that innocent people in Gaza are being “completely murdered so that they can build some new real estate development,”so “everybody can get rich there in the new Gaza.” She may have a point when you look at the plan announced for the Board of Peace.

These new statements are just the newest in her fierce criticism of the Trump administration since she left the ranks. Greene thinks that every action by Donald Trump is part of a larger, coordinated scheme that has revealed the movement’s true purpose. To her, the revelation is “kind of like the ‘Scooby-Doo’ meme where they pull the mask off the bad guy.” This is definitely one of the most blistering critiques President Trump has faced from a long-time ally, and it shows just how much internal disagreement is brewing within the Republican ranks.
