An Uber driver has received praise from the people of TikTok after outing a man’s despicable plan to dump his girlfriend but only after he had enjoyed an expensive holiday she was paying for.
“If you live in Austin, Texas, and your boyfriend’s name is Bradley, and you plan on going on Spring break with him in the next week, this video is for you,” TikToker Shawn states. He then goes on to warn the unknown woman that she should dump her boyfriend, or even better, “wait until you get to the airport, cancel his ticket, and then dump him at the airport.”
It may sound harsh but Shawn knows something nobody else does: Bradley, who was a passenger in the Uber Shawn was driving, is planning to break up with his girlfriend but he wants a free holiday first. You see, Bradley’s girlfriend has paid for a very expensive trip for her and her boyfriend, however, the slimy boyfriend doesn’t want to lose out on a free trip so he’s biding his time. What’s worse is that Shawn claims Bradley said some rather nasty things about his girlfriend and her mother.
Bradley seems like the worst kind of partner, using people for free stuff and then dumping them when it’s convenient for him. He’s so arrogant and self-assured that he’s even talking about his dastardly plans in the back of an Uber, presumably because he thinks Shawn, the driver, won’t do anything about it. Thankfully Shawn is one of the good Uber drivers and he decided he wouldn’t just stand by and let this happen, taking to TikTok in order to try and find the girlfriend and warn her.
Did the heroic Uber driver’s plan work?
Posting out to TikTok seems like a shot in the dark, especially with so much noise out there so there was a chance Shawn’s warning would never reach the ears it was intended for. However, you can never underestimate the power of social media.
The video quickly went viral thanks to people on TikTok sharing it and pretty soon it found its way to residents in Austin, Texas. Eventually people from the same university saw it and promised to spread the word in hopes of getting the warning to the girlfriend.
It didn’t take long. In an update video Shawn confirmed that he had been in contact with Bradley’s girlfriend. Sharing some details with permission from the woman, who preferred to remain anonymous, Shawn confirmed that she would be dumping Bradley before the trip, she also had some sassy messages she wanted Shawn to publicly share on her behalf.
Viewers were, of course, pleased with the outcome, “Bradley’s Spring break is ruined and I can now go to sleep with a smile on my face,” wrote one happy individual. “She came for Bradley’s neck and I’m here for it,” added another.
