TikToker – with history of missing flights – arrived 2 hours early to finally break the streak, but still saw the plane leaving without her

Timing is everything… unless you’re this lady.

A TikToker known for missing flights has done it again, but this time she missed her plane even after arriving two hours early at Los Angeles International Airport. Mackenzie, who goes by @themackenziepalmer on TikTok, shared her latest travel mishap in a video that got over 1.1 million views.

According to Brobible, Mackenzie has openly admitted she has a habit of missing flights in unusual ways. She once showed up to the airport two days after her scheduled departure. So for her latest trip, she decided to arrive a full two hours before her flight to make sure she would not miss it this time.

With all that extra time, she decided to grab food before her flight. “I think I got so much time in the world. Imma get me a little bit of food. I get me some Panda Express,” she explained in her video. She then sat down to eat and started scrolling through X, losing track of time in the process.

Missing a flight you are already early for is a special kind of bad luck

She suddenly realized her flight was taking off in just 15 minutes. “I’m like, ‘Oh s—. Let me go.’ Wrong terminal,” she recounted, realizing her gate was three stops away from where she was. She ran through the airport anyway, but by the time she reached the correct gate, the flight had already left. TikTok, a platform that has grown massively since it was first launched, continues to be where moments like these go viral within hours.

According to travel planning sites, what happens when you miss a flight depends on who is at fault. If the airline caused you to miss a connection, they are generally required to rebook you. But if you showed up too late on your own, you may have to pay for a new ticket.

Some airlines have a “flat tire” rule that gives passengers some flexibility if they miss a flight due to unexpected circumstances, as long as they call the airline in advance. However, spending too long at a food court would likely not qualify for that kind of exception.

Viewers in Mackenzie’s TikTok video comments had a lot to say. One person wrote, “May I NEVER find a travel partner like this.” Another said, “See a doctor, this has to be medical.” Someone else shared, “as a professional eldest daughter this is unfathomable.” Mackenzie’s video is also a good example of a viral TikTok trend that pushes people to reflect on their life choices.
