Woman comes home from a girls’ weekend. She suspects cheating after noticing one change in her bathroom: ‘another woman was in your home’

A woman’s blow dryer apparently became the unlikely source of relationship suspicions after she returned home from a girls’ weekend and noticed something about it that immediately felt wrong. Emy, who posts on TikTok as @emy.detective, shared a video showing the appliance with its power cord loosely wrapped around the handle, prompting her to wonder whether another woman had been inside her home while she was away.

On-screen text in the video reads, “when you come home after a girls’ weekend to your blow dryer like this and now all you can think is another woman was in your home while you were away.”

Emy has not named her partner in the videos. She described the relationship as lasting two and a half years and said she had viewed it as strong until she noticed the blow dryer.

In a follow-up TikTok video, Emy replied to a comment asking for an update. She stated, “So I haven’t confronted him about it yet. I am still looking for more proof because I can’t just bring myself to attack him and accuse him of having an affair after 2 and a half years of what I thought was a f–king phenomenal relationship.”

Emy added that the only other change she had noticed involved her partner’s phone. She said he had started to keep his phone face down more often. She explained that this had happened sometimes in the past on both sides and that she had not thought much of it before. 

She told viewers that the phone’s position now stood out to her after the blow dryer incident. Emy said she needed more proof before she would speak to him about her concerns. This kind of everyday detail can spark big suspicions, like when a woman thought a folded pretzel bag was a sign of cheating. 

Viewers left comments on the original video about the way the blow dryer cord was left. One commenter wrote, “No girl would ever leave a hair dryer like that. We would wrap the cord.” Another commenter suggested a different explanation and wrote, “Cord isn’t wrapped, it’s not put away, it was your man lol.” A third commenter advised talking things through and wrote, “If you start thinking like this, it’s time to re-evaluate your relationship. Sit down and talk.”

One person pointed to a wider feeling among some viewers and wrote, “The fact that we collectively don’t trust men anymore.” Another commenter offered a possible everyday reason and wrote, “My assumption would be that my husband needed something and the blow-dryer was in the way and he didn’t bother putting it back.”

A further commenter raised the idea that the dryer might have been left out on purpose and wrote, “Maybe she intentionally left it out for you to find.” Such suspicions can arise from subtle changes in routine, as in a story where a woman’s husband comes home and sits at the kitchen table while her real husband calls to say he’s still 20 minutes away.
