Hungry Detroit woman calls Little Caesars and gets lowkey scared by man’s voice on the line

We might have tried Papa John's instead.

A hungry customer in Detroit says a routine pizza order turned unexpectedly eerie after a phone call to Little Caesars featured a voice she—and millions online—couldn’t stop talking about.

The viral moment comes from TikTok creator It’s XO (@xolayazo), whose video has racked up more than 8 million views. A text overlay on the clip reads, “Who TF they got working at Little Caesars??” — setting the tone for what viewers quickly realized was no ordinary takeout interaction.

Crazy bread, crazy voice

In the now-viral clip, the employee’s voice on the other end of the line stands out immediately, sounding unusually deep, monotone, and almost cartoonish. As the order is placed, the exchange unfolds.

“One order of stuffed crazy bread, one pepperoni cheese bread. Anything else?” the employee asks. “Uh, no. What’s my total?” the caller responds. “It’s 10:05 right now.” “I bet, bro,” she says.

He then says, “I’m going to need 15 minutes or so. I need a name as well.” And she says her name is “Frank.”

The clipped delivery and odd cadence sparked a wave of reactions in the comments section, with many viewers joking that the voice sounded like Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants. Others said it felt like a prank call or a voice filter, though the creator insisted it was real.

“It was a whole little thing”

But what began as a humorous viral moment took a more chaotic turn when she and her girlfriend went to pick up the order at a location in Oak Park.

In a follow-up video, It’s XO provided more context, saying the original recording didn’t capture the full extent of how strange the interaction felt from the beginning.

“I wish you guys would have heard from the jump,” she said, explaining that the voice immediately made her question who she was speaking to. “That’s why we tried to prolong [the conversation]… like, who do they have working here? Be for real.”

According to the follow-up, the experience inside the store escalated quickly. After being told the order would take 10 minutes, the pair said they waited, only to be told it would take another 20 when they returned to the counter.

The creator said she began to reconsider joking about the employee, speculating that he might have a condition such as Tourette syndrome, though she emphasized she wasn’t certain and didn’t want to make assumptions. “I don’t really want to joke about it after that,” she said.

She then described the situation turning tense when they asked for a refund. According to her account, the employee became visibly upset, allegedly slamming the pizza down, striking the register, and causing sauce to spill onto her girlfriend.

“She ended up throwing the sauce in the place,” the creator said. “So it was a whole little thing.”

They never got their pizza

Ultimately, the pair left and chose to go elsewhere for food. The creator ended her update with a warning to others in the area: “If you’re ever in Michigan in Oak Park area, please watch out.”

Little Caesars has not publicly commented on the viral videos as of this writing, and it’s unclear whether any internal action has been taken regarding the incident.

Online, the moment continues to spark debate: Some viewers remain amused by the unusual voice, while others have shifted focus to workplace conditions, customer interactions, and the importance of handling potentially sensitive situations with care.

What started as a simple pizza order has now become a viral moment, one that blends humor, confusion, and a reminder that sometimes even a pizza order is not as straightforward as it seems.
