Abdul El-Sayed brought up JD Vance’s wife and kids in recent comments. Vance’s mother says she’d ‘probably punch’ him: ‘That man’s an idiot’

Beverly Vance Aikins, the mother of Vice President JD Vance, told OutKick host Tomi Lahren that she would “probably punch” Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed if she ever saw him in person. The comments came on Lahren’s program, Tomi Lahren is Fearless.

Aikins tied her reaction to statements El-Sayed had made about Second Lady Usha Vance and the couple’s children. “I think that man’s an idiot,” she said. “Those are my babies.”

She described Usha Vance in personal terms, saying she loves her “as if she were my own daughter.” Aikins also said El-Sayed must be jealous of her son’s family and that the remarks made her mad, though she said she was not going to do anything about it.

El-Sayed’s remarks about Usha Vance, the children, and Vance’s grandfather

El-Sayed discussed Usha Vance and the children in April on The Allen Analysis Show. “What do you think is going through Usha’s head when [the vice president] talks? She’s like, ‘D–n, I have to sleep with him,’” he said.

On the same podcast, El-Sayed added, “I guess she’s pregnant so something is happening.” He then said, “Can you imagine, he’s got brown kids, at some point he’s going to have a really awkward conversation with his kids, like, you made your career hating people who are different.”

El-Sayed later posted on X about Vance’s grandfather: “So do we think JD is taking Usha with him back in time to meet Papaw, or no…” That post came after Vance mentioned his grandfather at an event in Ohio and accused El-Sayed of suggesting it is racist to criticize Sharia law. The exchange highlights the ongoing back-and-forth between the two, as Vance has previously called El-Sayed’s voters self-hating white liberals and blamed elite colleges for creating them.

At a Monday rally, Vance replied, “Keep my wife’s name the hell outta your mouth, because she’s way outta your league!” Aikins later said of Usha Vance, “She’s one of the best, most genuine people I’ve ever met. And she loves my son, and she’s a good mother.”

Aikins also said, “Those are my babies. I love those babies and would do anything for any of them.” She told Lahren she does not pay attention to people like El-Sayed, then said she was still angry because “he doesn’t know JD and he doesn’t know, you know, what type of person he is, and I do.”

“I mean, it makes me mad, honestly,” Aikins said. “I’m not gonna do anything about it. I mean, you know, I’d probably punch the guy if I’d ever seen him, and then that would get me in trouble.” She added that she would “just go with the flow.”

El-Sayed, who is facing Republican Mike Rogers in the Michigan Senate race, appeared on CNN on Monday and accused Vance of hypocrisy. He cited a Truth Social post from President Donald Trump that placed photos of Trump and Melania Trump next to photos of El-Sayed and his wife under the line “Two VERY DIFFERENT America’s.” El-Sayed has framed his campaign as a direct counter to Trump’s influence, as when he claimed Trump is making him the main character of the midterms.

“Look, I’d rather not talk about spouses at all,” El-Sayed said on CNN. “The truth of the matter is that Donald Trump, almost as soon as I was nominated, tweeted a picture of me and my wife relative to him and his wife, trying to highlight the fact that my wife wears a hijab, as if to make an argument that that’s somehow less American.”
