NFL Cream Of The Crop – Week Ten

One thing's for certain this week, there will be a shakeup at the top of everyone's NFL Power Rankings after Sunday Night Football. This week SNF features a potential Super Bowl match up, as the current #1 AFC seed, the Houston Texans, travel to face the current #2 NFC seed, the Chicago Bears.

Before I get started with the Cream Of The Crop this week, I’d like to thank my We Got This Covered cohort Dave Gilbert, for stepping in and writing my Bottom Of The Barrel post last week, a bang up job as always.

Now let’s see how Dave had the Cream last week;

1. Atlanta Falcons
2. Houston Texans
3. New York Giants

Not bad, but I think he should have left my top 3 untouched from the previous week, so I’ll rectify that right now.

1. Atlanta Falcons

It actually pains me to keep putting the Falcons on the top spot, as I really don’t believe they are the best team in the NFL, but until I’m proven otherwise, the undefeated team from the A-T-L deserves the number one slot.

It’s really hard to argue against a passing game as prolific as one that trots out two legitimate #1 receivers and one of the best tight ends in the game, with a trigger man that has a 103.o QB rating. So I won’t. The Falcons travel to New Orleans this weekend and an upset wouldn’t be out of the question.

2. Houston Texans

I think the Texans are the most complete team in the NFL right now. They are good on both sides of the ball, their roster is full of play makers, and this Sunday night they have a chance to make a huge statement by going into Chicago and beating the Bears.

Much like Atlanta above them, I think the Texans deserve their position until their record says otherwise.

3. Chicago Bears

With the Giants losing to the Steelers last week, I’m justified in moving them off this spot in favor of the Chicago Bears. The Bears have a defense that is causing teams to outright fear them. The Bears D is scoring TDs at a record setting pace, they are forcing fumbles, intercepting passes, and getting to the quarterback.

They still have some offensive issues to work out, but it was around mid season last year when they started clicking on that side of the ball.

NBC has to be salivating about the Sunday Night Football game this week. To steal a line from Terrell Owens; Get your popcorn ready, it should be a good one.
