Nano Assault Neo X Will Shrink Onto PS4

Shin'en Multimedia's visually thrilling shoot 'em-up, Nano Assault Neo -- which debuted on the Wii U's eShop back in 2012 -- has been confirmed for PlayStation 4. However, it won't come bearing the same name, and will instead be known as Nano Assault Neo X when it hits Sony's powerful console.

Shin’en Multimedia’s visually thrilling shoot ’em-up, Nano Assault Neo — which debuted on the Wii U’s eShop back in 2012 — has been confirmed for PlayStation 4. However, it won’t come bearing the same name, and will instead be known as Nano Assault Neo X when it hits Sony’s powerful console.

A three-dimensional twin-stick shooter, Nano Assault Neo X tasks gamers with travelling into microscopic cells and taking out the bugs that have latched onto them. It’s a console-based follow-up to one of the 3DS’ lesser-known gems, that being Nano Assault, a game that I enjoyed when I reviewed it. That is, despite its game breaking bug, which has hopefully been fixed by now.

Speaking to Joystiq, Shin’en confirmed that its PlayStation 4 port will indeed offer two-player split-screen support, in addition to touchpad functionality and leaderboards. It’s also been mentioned that the game could hit the system’s downloadable service in Q4 of this year, touting sixty-frames-per-second, 7.1 surround sound and 1080p.

Stay tuned for more information as it develops. For now, though, head over to the Wii U’s eShop to take advantage of a 25% off sale on the original Nano Assault Neo. It’ll tie you over until Nano Assault Neo X is released, if you feel that you can’t wait.
