Stunning Launch Trailer For Forza Horizon 2 Roars Onto The Scene

Since it roared onto the scene back in 2012, Forza Horizon has always been considered the left-field (and, arguably, more enjoyable) spin-off to Turn 10’s long-running franchise. Since it roared onto the scene back in 2012, Forza Horizon has always been considered the left-field (and, arguably, more enjoyable) spin-off to Turn 10’s long-running franchise. It was the eccentric, arcade-styled younger sibling who refused to play by the rules and ahead of Forza Horizon 2’s release at the end of September, Microsoft has published the game’s rather gorgeous launch trailer.

Developed by British studio Playground Games — with Sumo Digital handling the 360 version — Forza Horizon 2 is set to erase the bad memories of Forza Motorsport 5 and its scant roster of content by introducing players to over 200 vehicles. And, similarly to its predecessor, these vehicles won’t be limited to your average bunch of super cars; rather, Horizon 2 will boast a hoard of off-road automobiles as well.

The open-world sequel is harnessing the power of the Forza 5 game engine, with Playground Games pointing to the title’s dynamic weather system as one of Forza Horizon 2’s most eye-catching features. That feature itself is showcased in the above trailer, which was all captured in-game on the Xbox One. Moreover the title will implement the Driveatar system that was originally found in last year’s Forza Motorsport 5.

We got some hands-on time with the title during E3 a couple of months back, and it certainly looks the part. With stunning vistas all hitting 1080p with ease, it looks as though the high-octane sequel is shaping up to be one of fall’s biggest releases.

Forza Horizon 2 is set to drift onto Xbox One and Xbox 360 on September 30th, 2014. Although, for those who can’t wait to get behind the wheel, the studio has confirmed that a demo will be made available for Xbox One users on September 16th.
