Almost fifteen years after its release on Nintendo 64, The Legend Of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D will be re-released for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS in spring 2015.

The Big N made the long-awaited announcement during today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, meaning that Majora’s Mask will follow the route of its predecessor, Ocarina of Time, onto the company’s handheld console. And, much like that re-release three years ago, Nintendo confirmed that a limited edition 3DS will launch in tandem with Majora’s Mask, with the special edition including a double-sided poster, glossy steelbook and even a pin badge of the titular, world-ending satellite.

It’s an announcement that has been a long time coming, quite frankly, and fans of the eerie title will no doubt be over the moon (sorry) that it’s finally been given the re-release it so deserves.

For the uninitiated, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask is considered to be one of the darker entries into Eiji Aonuma’s revered series, as it sends Link on a quest to save the doomed world Termina before a looming moon wipes out the helpless population. What makes this entry stand out from the crowd, though, is its time-sensitive gameplay mechanic, which contains the adventure into a three-day cycle; a cycle that can only be reset using the Song of Time.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask will arrive for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS in spring, 2015. In the meantime, you can let us know whether you’ll be visiting the ominous world of Termina once again in the comments section below.
