Though it was initially due to arrive tomorrow, November 19th, 343 Industries has opted to delay the upcoming matchmaking patch for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, meaning that the update won’t arrive until the end of this week.

The studio made the announcement through the dedicated Halo Waypoint forum, and issued the following message to the franchise’s loyal fanbase:

“This content update includes a variety of fixes across the title,” reads 343’s update on Halo Waypoint, “including matchmaking performance issues, general UI and game stability improvements, as well as fixes for game-game specific issues in Halo: CE, Halo 2, and Halo 2: Anniversary, and more. The full patch notes will be posted later this week, in advance of the content update release.”

In postponing the compilation’s latest patch, 343 has given themselves an additional period of time for additional fixes before it is verified by Microsoft’s certification process. Things do seem to be improving since Halo: The Master Chief Collection‘s turbulent launch, though, after the studio issued a statement saying that server-side adjustments had boosted matchmaking features, meaning users had a 20% higher chance of connecting to an online game.

Either way, the upcoming patch will reportedly improve the matchmaking woes that have plagued the game since its release last week, all the while introducing minor updates and bug fixes across Halo and Halo 2: Anniversary.

No word yet on when those pulled playlists will weave their way back into the game, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available now exclusively on Xbox One.
