The Wives Take Center Stage In New Featurettes For Mad Max: Fury Road

Early reviews for Mad Max: Fury Road have been overwhelmingly positive, with George Miller’s long-awaited apocalyptic sequel hovering around 97% over on Rotten Tomatoes, so it comes as no surprise that Warner Bros. has unveiled a pair of featurettes for the film that introduce us to some of the supporting characters.

Don’t let the title fool you, despite Tom Hardy’s lone wolf acting as the lead character, it is The Wives who will act as the crux of Fury Road. Held as prisoners by the intolerable and indeed tyrannical Immortan Joe, it isn’t long before the ladies inadvertently start a bout of desert warfare after they are kidnapped by Charlize Theron’s Furiosa.

Splendid, Fragile, Toast, Capable and The Dag will round out the group in question, while the second featurette shifts the attention to Nicholas Hoult’s erratic Nux. Because in a sun-scorched world where law and order are ancillary concerns, memorable names are pretty low down on your list of priorities.

Stay tuned to We Got This Covered in the coming days when we’ll have our own thoughts on Mad Max: Fury Road for you to enjoy when the film opens on Friday, May 15.

Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
