Now that Warner Bros. has slated the action comedy for a release in 2016, we’re beginning to see the first signs of life from Todd Phillips’ upcoming picture, Arms and the Dudes. Taking to Instagram, The Hangover director shared several images from the production, showcasing Jonah Hill and Whiplash star Miles Teller as a pair of pot-smoking wheeler dealers.

Lifted from true events, the film follows the two friends as they quickly amass a small fortune by brokering deals with U.S. military contracts. It isn’t long before their illicit escapade spins out of control, though, and “The Dudes” find a lucrative deal worth $300 million sitting on their laps; one which would see them do business with some of the most ruthless players in the Iraq War.

Phillips has earmarked each still with the day of shooting, and though these may no be indicative of the final cut, it’s likely we’ll see more and more stills from the film as production progresses.

Jonah Hill and Miles Teller will talk their way into some serious trouble when Todd Phillips’ Arms and the Dudes lands in theaters on March 11, 2016.

Based on a true story, “Arms & the Dudes” follows two friends in their early 20s (Hill and Teller) living in Miami during the Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Starting small, they begin raking in big money and are living the high life. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a $300 million deal to arm the Afghan Military—a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.
