We’re little over a fortnight out from the series premiere of AMC’s Preacher series, and a new promo has surfaced today heralding the arrival of DC Vertigo’s jet-black drama to the small-screen.

Set to make its bow on May 22, it is Dominic Cooper that will soon be fighting the good fight as Jesse Custer, a chain-smoking exorcist ready to deal with the best and worst that Heaven, Hell and everything else in between throws at him. In many ways, the imminent live-action rendition of Preacher is the brainchild of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and showrunner Sam Catlin, who helped produce the series during its formative years.

But fans know Custer as the gruff protagonist that headlined Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s comic series, and will surely be pleased to see Glenn Fabry’s artwork being honored in the show’s most recent posters, seen below.

Starring Cooper as Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun as Cassidy, Ruth Negga as Tulip, Lucy Griffiths as Emily, W. Earl Brown as Sherriff Root, Anatol Yusef as DeBlanc, Tom Brooke as Fiore, Derek Wilson as Donnie Schenck and Ian Colletti as Eugene/Arseface, look for Preacher to step out of the shadows and onto AMC in time for Sunday, May 22nd at 10:00pm ET/PT via AMC.

While you wait for it to premiere, why not check out our review?
