Deadmau5 Dropped “Snowcone” In His Set At Free Press Summer Festival

While the Houston based Free Press Summer Music Festival went down with a few hitches over the weekend due to weather related issues, it wasn't enough to stop EDM icon deadmau5 from hitting the stage and testing out his new single "Snowcone" for his live audience.

While the Houston based Free Press Summer Music Festival went down with a few hitches over the weekend due to weather related issues, it wasn’t enough to stop EDM icon deadmau5 from hitting the stage and testing out his new single “Snowcone” for his live audience.

The producer surprised fans in late May when he dropped the new track without any previous hype, delivering a high class Trip hop exercise with chilled out overtones. “Snowcone” represents something of a departure for the Canadian electronic guru, featuring many of his signature elements used to new effect for the downtempo tune, with his top notch synth productions weaving a hazy atmosphere over hip hop styled beats.

While “Snowcone” isn’t the most energetic single in the deadmau5 catalog, it seems to be a worthy addition to his live show and the man himself looks excited to be giving it a whirl before the large crowd.
