There’s been a lot to discuss with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story recently. Between dissecting the various plot points, the technical wizardry that helped bring old characters to life and little nods to the original trilogy spread throughout, we’ve only recently started looking into the various hidden cameos in the film. While director Gareth Edwards’ cameo wasn’t a secret, it wasn’t clear where he would appear in the final product. That is, until now, as the Internet as deduced where the Godzilla director pops up in the sci-fi blockbuster.

As reported by an eagle-eyed viewer on Twitter, Edwards hid among the Rebel soldiers during Rogue One‘s climatic battle. But he wasn’t merely any soldier. He was actually the one that disengages the Tantive IV – the rebel ship from A New Hope that allows Princess Leia and the Death Star plans to escape Darth Vadar’s rage.

You can see a brief, blurry glimpse of Edwards’ cameo in the Tweet found below.

That’s perhaps not the sexiest cameo, but it’s a cool one nonetheless. And it won’t be the last time Edwards appears in the Star Wars universe. He’ll also show up — in one way or another — in Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: Episode VIII, as it was revealed during Star Wars Celebration Europe 2016. Additionally, Johnson had a Rogue One cameo. He played one of the Death Star crew members who fired the station’s city-destroying laser weapon.

Of course, there are likely a ton of cameos laced throughout Rogue One: A Star Wars Story — many of which we likely won’t know for some time. Or, at least, for the next few weeks. We’ll keep you posted about the most notable ones, however, so be sure to check back often.
