The Flash/Supergirl Musical Crossover Will Air This March

While we wait for next season’s major DC TV crossover – which will hopefully see Kevin Smith firmly seated in a director’s chair – it’s time we prepare for something a little smaller and more whimsical. As we previously reported, a musical crossover is soon set to occur involving The Flash and Supergirl, with Music Meister serving as the villain.

There is, however, a bit of a catch. When “Heroes vs. Aliens” was billed as a four-show, four-night crossover by the network, fans took that quite literally. As it turned out, it was more so characters from four different shows joining forces across three with the first part, incidentally Supergirl, serving as more of a prologue with Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon not showing up until the final minutes. Granted, that episode was one of the strongest of any DC TV series to air during that week, but it’s understandable that fans were a bit frustrated.

So, if that miffed you at all, well, then get ready for round two because, you guessed it, Supergirl will act as a prologue yet again on March 20. It looks like most, if not all, of the jazzy tunes will be saved for the March 21 episode of The Flash, the appropriately titled “Duet.”

Directed by Dermott Downs, cast members expected to lend their pipes include Grant Gustin, Melissa Benoist, Jesse L. Martin, Victor Garber, Carlos Valdes, Jeremy Jordan, and John Barrowman. Let it be known that many have a musical background, so this will probably work quite well.

Supergirl airs on Mondays, with The Flash following on Tuesdays on The CW.
