Now that The Flash has made its triumphant midseason return, it’s time to look forward to the next all-new episode, “Dead or Alive,” which we’re better equipped to do thanks to an extended trailer that the network has released.
In it, we see the producers give a bit of a nod to the Justice League Detroit days when Gypsy (Jessica Camacho) arrives on the scene with the intention of apprehending H.R. Wells and escorting him back to Earth-19. Knowing that she has a comic book history with Vibe causes us to wonder if she’ll be heard from more in the future and, should she be well received by viewers, anything is possible.
Another interesting element this brings to the show is getting to see Cisco square off against someone with similar powers that isn’t actually a doppelganger. After meeting Earth-2’s Reverb last year, it actually may be preferable that the show’s creative minds opted to mine DC’s trove of characters as opposed to retreading season 2.

DC COMICS’ GYPSY ARRIVES ON EARTH-1 – H.R.’s (Tom Cavanagh) past catches up with him when a bounty hunter with vibe powers named Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho) arrives in Central City to bring him back to Earth-19 to stand trial for his crime. It turns out inter-dimensional travel is illegal on their Earth. H.R. surrenders but when Barry (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) find out that H.R.’s only hope would be to challenge Gypsy to a fight to the death, they intercede and Cisco offers to fight Gypsy instead.
The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.
