Injustice 2 players are going to have a substantial amount of character DLC thrown at them during the course of the beat ’em up’s lifetime, that much we know, but answering the question of who’s next in line to get a spot on the game’s roster is a far harder nut to crack.

NetherRealm is, as you read this, likely putting the final touches on additional character Starfire, so it’s unlikely we’ll be hearing anything official until the third and final member of Fighter Pack 1 makes her way in-game, but it appears as if an inadvertent slip-up by Microsoft has let the cat out of the bag early on at least one unannounced – but heavily teased – new arrival.

As spotted today by Reddit user iixfinityii (via ComicBook), one particular advert on the Xbox One Store appears to have accidentally revealed the character Black Manta for the super powered brawler ahead of time. Of course, there’s always the chance that an image such as this has been doctored in some form or fashion, but it seems a highly unlikely prospect, especially as past comments from series director Ed Boon have teased the very same thing.

Microsoft isn’t the only party responsible for such blunders, though. The arrival of Red Hood last month saw the accidental inclusion of silhouettes for unannounced characters. Given the unique shape of Black Manta’s helmet – and one of the shadows being an almost identical mirror – it’s all but confirmed that the villain will be arriving sooner or later.

We’ll have to wait and see what the future brings, but assuming Starfire debuts sometime in August, we shouldn’t have to wait long to find out who the members of Injustice 2‘s Fighter Pack 2 are.
