Arrow Producers Have Already Started Mapping Out Season 7

With roughly two months to go until Arrow and the rest of its DC TV brethren make their return, the hype train continues to pick up momentum. And considering that we've already been given a lot to look forward to in season 6 by knowing that there'll be multiple big bads, Manu Bennett's Deathstroke will appear in several episodes and that another four-way crossover is slated for this fall, it's safe to say that the future is indeed looking bright.

With roughly two months to go until Arrow and the rest of its DC TV brethren make their return, the hype train continues to pick up momentum. And considering that we’ve already been given a lot to look forward to in season 6 by knowing that there’ll be multiple big bads, Manu Bennett’s Deathstroke will appear in several episodes and that another four-way crossover is slated for this fall, it’s safe to say that the future is indeed looking bright.

Amazingly enough, whatever the producers have planned for the coming year sounds to be so grandiose and epic that it could snowball into the following season. In fact, executive producer Marc Guggenheim said as much when speaking at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour:

“We’ve already started talking about ooh, we have a shape for season seven already. This is the earliest we’ve ever had an idea for a season that far ahead, but it’s come out of our conversations about season six.”

While it may be very difficult to tell what exactly Guggenheim and company have planned, odds are that whatever Oliver Queen and the rest of Team Arrow are forced to endure will pave the way for what’s to come. I highly doubt that the creative minds behind the series intend on telling only half of a story this year. Still, knowing where you’re going could greatly benefit from a storytelling standpoint, lest we forget Eric Kripke’s multi-year plan for the first few seasons of Supernatural.

Furthermore, we fully expect for a season 7 to come to fruition. While Arrow may have been moved to Thursday nights at 9pm beginning on October 12, it’s still holding strong with its target demographic. So, until the ratings completely bottom out and/or the show is moved to Friday night, we fully anticipate for the father of the Arrowverse (it’s called that for a reason) to endure for at least another year or two.
