Arrow’s Prometheus Will Return In This Fall’s DC TV Crossover

There's no doubt in my mind that there were many positive things to be said about season 5 of Arrow. But in an effort to not dwell on the past too much, I'll say that one of those elements vital to helping the series reattain its former glory was that of Prometheus, one of the deadliest, most calculating villains that Oliver Queen and his cohorts have faced to date.

There’s no doubt in my mind that there were many positive things to be said about season 5 of Arrow. But in an effort to not dwell on the past too much, I’ll say that one of those elements vital to helping the series reattain its former glory was that of Prometheus, one of the deadliest, most calculating villains that Oliver Queen and his cohorts have faced to date.

Fortunately – or unfortunately, depending on whom you may ask – Adrian Chase took his own life at the end of May’s finale, thereby triggering hundreds of bombs on Lian Yu hooked up to a dead man’s switch, the ramifications of which are still to be explored. But with the concept of the multiverse being fair game, a return of some sort isn’t out of the question.

In fact, we’ll see Prometheus again in this fall’s four-show DC TV crossover, “Crisis on Earth-X,” but with a bit of a twist. You see, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed the return of the Prometheus persona, only this time it won’t be Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra) under the cowl. Right now, whomever it may be remains a mystery, but theories are running rampant, with suspicions be cast toward doppelgangers of Quentin Lance, Tommy Merlyn and even Roy Harper.

Truth be told, we should’ve seen this coming because we could see a figure believed to be Prometheus on the first poster released for the crossover (pictured below), which shows him accompanying Overgirl, Dark Arrow and Dark Flash. But no matter who may be under the hood, one strong possibility exists: The revelation could very well mess with our Green Arrow’s head at a time when his fellow heroes will need him most.

Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 on The CW.
