When Iris West said those words to Barry Allen earlier this season, a sizable chunk of the viewing audience let out a groan similar to what they’d normally let loose whenever Felicity Smoak offers up such a gem. But, in truth, Iris was just showing moral support for her super husband.

Or, at least, that’s what we thought at the time.

Now, however, it looks like those words are to be taken quite literally because Iris will be indeed suiting up in the March 13th episode that’s appropriately titled “Run, Iris, Run.” And as you can see from the image below that the network has begun circulating via social media, Cisco Ramon will likely waste little time fashioning her a costume of her own (even though it took Elongated Man forever to get some decent threads).

To be perfectly honest, this move will likely prove to be divisive amongst the fanbase, but only time will tell for certain. Before we proceed any further, though, let’s take a look at the episode’s official synopsis:

Team Flash confronts a new bus meta, Matthew AKA Melting Pot (guest star Leonardo Nam), with the ability to swap people’s DNA. During a battle with Team Flash, Matthew transfers Barry’s (Grant Gustin) super speed to Iris (Candice Patton). Now, with a new threat unleashed on Central City, Barry must act as the team leader while Iris takes on the mantle of superhero speedster in order to defeat their new foe.

From the sound of it, this move will be a one-shot deal, as one would expect for Barry to regain his powers near the episode’s conclusion. Still, we can’t rule out the possibility of something happening down the line that’ll grant Iris powers on a more permanent basis, or meeting a superpowered doppelganger of hers from a parallel Earth.

The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW.
