Season 4 of Fear The Walking Dead is fast approaching, and this brand new promo places the focus squarely on Morgan Jones.

It’s official: Morgan Jones is headed for uncharted territory. And so too is Fear The Walking Dead.

For its fourth season, AMC’s spinoff series is expected to break new ground by welcoming Lennie James’ world-weary survivor into its ranks – alongside fellow newcomers Naomi (Jenna Elfman), John (Garret Dillahunt), and Althea (Maggie Grace).

Truth be told, it’s a crossover that has been long on the cards, but AMC clearly has all hands at the pump, as today heralds the release of a new promo for Fear The Walking Dead season 4. And in keeping with the show’s change of pace, it’s told through the eyes of Morgan Jones, who regales Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) about his time out there in the big bad world.

All in all, it’s a pretty effective promo, which uses the dialogue between Kim Dickens and Lennie James – between Madison and Morgan – to drum up the tension for what is undoubtedly the most-anticipated installment of Fear The Walking Dead to date.

And according to AMC’s official synopsis, it’ll unfold as so:

We will see the world of Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and her family through new eyes — the eyes of Morgan Jones (Lennie James), joining the story from the world of The Walking Dead. The characters’ immediate past mixes with an uncertain present of struggle and discovery as they meet new friends, foes, and threats. They fight for each other, against each other, and against a legion of the dead to somehow build an existence against the crushing pressure of lives coming apart. There will be darkness and light; terror and grace; the heroic, mercenary, and craven all crashing together towards a new reality

And true to the old saying of one door closing just as another begins to open, The Walking Dead season 8 will end on the same day that Fear The Walking Dead season 4 begins: April 15th. It’ll forever be known as Survival Sunday, given AMC plans to launch its Walking Dead saga onto the big screen for one night only.
