You’d be forgiven for losing sight of all of the many Marvel heroes (and villains!) that make up Avengers: Infinity War.

On paper, Joe and Anthony Russo’s Earth-shaking event movie is set to feature around 22 mainline characters, as they come together to form an almighty super-team and, ultimately, ward off the impending apocalypse. That figure also encompasses the likes of T’Challa, Shuri, and Danai Gurira’s fearless Okoye, along with the old guard of the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye (!) and the God of Thunder himself, Thor.

But in light of today’s set visit embargo, we now know the whereabouts of Sam Wilson (Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier/White Wolf) when Avengers: Infinity War kicks off in earnest. And unsurprisingly, the latter is still being nursed back to recovery in Wakanda.

The same thing he was doing in Wakanda the last time you saw him in Wakanda. Dreaming in his little spacecraft. Well, that’s the last time you saw him, right? So, he’s here taking in the scenery, I guess. And the scenery ain’t great?

For Sam Wilson, Anthony Mackie’s cocksure military man is said to be reeling from the events of Civil War – not unlike War Machine – while the actor believes that the oncoming threat of Thanos lends the Avengers a chance to regroup.

We all kind of went on our separate ways after Civil War. We all kind of went on our separate ways and we were in hiding because of everything that happened in Civil War. So now, we get the call to rally, and here we are: Avengers 3.

And make no mistake, the gung-ho Falcon is prepped and ready to bring the Mad Titan down to size, even if he winds up paying the ultimate sacrifice:

One thing about Falcon I’ve always loved since the beginning of discovering this character is his military background, his belief that his job in life to fight for his fellow man. So when he hears about those in his overall idea of world destruction, he’s very disheartened and shaken by it. He’s eager to get into the fight against this super evil, this diabolical demon known as Thanos.

Avengers: Infinity War reaches theaters on April 27th. And it’s about to kick-start a bold new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
