Although it ended up coming as somewhat of a shock when it finally happened, a good amount of us must admit that we saw Marlize DeVoe’s betrayal of her husband, Clifford, coming. After all, we’d gotten inklings she was ready to jump ship on previous episodes of The Flash, and his fanatical behavior this past week gave her the last amount of incentive required. Granted, she swallowed his B.S. for years, but there eventually comes the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
Having said all that, Marlize has to be at the top of our list when it comes to whomever may be the one to tip the scales in favor of the STAR Labs crew. We make that bold claim because the official synopsis for the season finale, “We Are The Flash,” promises a “surprise ally” of some sort. And to be honest, doesn’t she just fit the bill?
Understandably, the network is keeping the description otherwise vague as to not let major spoilers get out, but here’s what we know so far:

Beyond that, there’s not much else to forecast. Aside from the fact that we know there will be two cliffhangers, one of which will have something to do with the mystery girl that’s confounded us all since her first appearance in last fall’s Crisis on Earth-X crossover. The other has to do with a tease involving next season’s big bad, but, who knows, maybe they’re one and the same?
The Flash airs on Tuesday nights on The CW, with the finale set to arrive on May 22.
