In the past week or so, those working behind the camera on The Flash have done one heck of a job when it comes to locking down talent for season 5. Already, we’ve received confirmation on Danielle Nicolet sticking around to play Cecile Horton on a more permanent basis, just as we did for Hartley Sawyer and his character of Ralph Dibny AKA the Elongated Man.

So, as the West-Allen family continues growing in the strangest of ways, it shouldn’t come as a shock to any when hearing that Jessica Parker Kennedy is the latest to sign on as a series regular, thus assuring that we’ll be seeing much, much more of Nora, Barry and Iris’ daughter from the future, in the coming year.

Originally having been introduced during last fall’s crossover event, Crisis on Earth-X, Nora confounded viewers and press alike, reappearing at various points throughout the season. Being dubbed “the Mystery Girl,” she eventually revealed her true identity in season 4’s finale – and that, much like her father, she apparently enjoys the pastime that is screwing with the timeline.

Something that’s also worth mentioning is how Nora will likely continue appearing in crossovers going forward, as both Kennedy and Nicolet teased while appearing at a recent convention. Knowing that Ms. West-Allen’s a speedster herself, it certainly wouldn’t hurt for her to lend a helping hand when the heroes of the Arrowverse venture to Gotham City this December.

Where she goes from here is certainly anybody’s guess, but one thing’s for certain, that being that the show will continue astonishing fans by embracing its comic book roots and sheer sci-fi craziness. After all, isn’t that what’s gotten us all to stick around for this long?

The Flash returns for its fifth season on Tuesday nights this fall on The CW.
