Part Of Aquaman’s Post-Credits Scene Has Been Revealed

Although DC's doing their utmost to keep Aquaman under lock and key, star of James Wan’s upcoming subaquatic superhero feature, Jason Momoa, certainly didn’t do the comic book juggernaut any favors when he let the ending of the film slip earlier this week.

In case you missed it, the actor, while speaking to Entertainment Weekly, seemingly confirmed the final moments of Aquaman, saying: “the last frame of this movie you’re going to see him actually become the thing he was destined to be.”

Now, to add insult to injury, a new report from Discussing Film has disclosed that the pic will indeed include the time-honored superhero movie staple of concluding with a post-credits scene.

“From our sources, we can confirm that Warner Bros’ next DC film, Aquaman, which will splash into cinemas on December 21st, will currently include a post-credits scene.”

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) the outlet didn’t stop there, but if you’d like to avoid a possible spoiler, stop reading now.

“The post-credits scene will feature Randall Park’s Dr. Stephen Shin and Yahya Abdul Mateen II’s Black Manta and will set up Black Manta for a larger villainous role in potential Aquaman sequels.”

Let’s not kid ourselves; practically every superhero movie nowadays finishes with a little snippet at the close of the credits setting up a future instalment. And given that we already knew Black Manta wouldn’t be the main villain of Aquaman – that designation belongs to Arthur Curry’s brother Orm, portrayed by Patrick Wilson – it’s only logical that Wan would use the opportunity to tease more of a role for Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the sequel, much like Doctor Strange did with Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Mordo.

Regardless, it would’ve been nice if the post-credits scene had remained a surprise. Still, there’s much to look forward to in James Wan’s Aquaman and we’ll get a chance to lay eyes on it in all its glory on December 21st.
