Legends Of Tomorrow Stars Reveal Which DC Characters They Hope To See

One of the many beautiful things about the Arrowverse is how it's brought a litany of DC heroes and villains into the live action realm like nothing before it. Really, who would've ever thought the likes of the Atom, Firestorm, Vixen and Killer Frost would be appearing on prime time television on a weekly basis - and in separate shows?

Still, there are some major boxes to be checked off, namely two-thirds of the Trinity. And while Tyler Hoechlin has given us a new take on Superman, I’d still advise not holding your breath for Batman and Wonder Woman due to WB’s motion picture division having other plans for them.

Red tape aside, Legends of Tomorrow stars Brandon Routh and Caity Lotz were asked which other DC characters they’d like to see on the small screen at a panel conducted at FanX 2018 in Salt Lake City, with Routh revealing the following:

“Well, Batman would be fun. It would certainly be interesting.”

Obviously, Routh isn’t the only one expressing that sentiment, even though we’ve been given assurance of the Dark Knight being kept away from the Arrowverse. But with his cousin in Batwoman soon showing up, one can only hope that some explanation for his absence will be given like, say, retirement or exile.

Additionally, Brandon couldn’t help playing the Superman card once audience members brought it up:

“Superman on Legends? I mean, he’s always there.”

Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a little longer for some Hoechlin-Routh hijinx because Legends of Tomorrow will be sitting out this year’s crossover, but Brandon wouldn’t be the first former Superman to share the screen with one of his successors. If you’ll recall, both Christopher Reeve and Dean Cain filmed alongside Tom Welling on Smallville at varying points.

As for Lotz, her dream sounds even more unattainable than Batman bunking on board the Waverider:

“I would bring The Penguin, but it’s gotta be Danny Devito.”

Like I said, that one seems out of the question, but Caity’s certainly allowed to fantasize. Either way, Legends of Tomorrow returns for its fourth season on Monday, October 22 on The CW.
