New Arrow Synopsis Hints At What To Expect From Season 7’s Premiere

Now that the season premiere of Arrow is a little over two weeks away, the network is finally willing to cough up a synopsis. I mean, we have been spoiled in recent memory by a new trailer and more information regarding December's "Elseworlds" crossover, but it's nice to have a description to go along with all that.

Now that the season premiere of Arrow is a little over two weeks away, the network is finally willing to cough up a synopsis. I mean, we have been spoiled in recent memory by a new trailer and more information regarding December’s “Elseworlds” crossover, but it’s nice to have a description to go along with all that.

As was to be expected, Oliver Queen’s incarceration is discussed for the bulk of it, though it’s quite interesting to learn that he could get out earlier on good behavior. Then again, if he keeps on getting into brutal fights in the shower area, our hero will eventually attract attention.

So, without further delay, here’s the synopsis for “Inmate 4587”:

LOCKED UP — Following Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) shocking decision to turn himself over to the FBI and reveal his identity as the Green Arrow to the public, Oliver has spent the past five months in Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Determined to keep a low profile to shorten his sentence for the sake of his family, Oliver is tested when he runs into old foes. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) have taken on new jobs and left their costumes behind but not everyone is following suit. With her focus on William (guest star Jack Moore), Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) tries to start over but when someone from her past resurfaces, things become complicated. James Bamford directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Oscar Balderrama (701). Original airdate 10/15/2018

To me, at least, another eye-catcher here is the little detail concerning Diggle and Dinah moving on from the vigilante lifestyle, with a few others standing firm. Though nobody was named outright, it’s probably not crazy to assume that Wild Dog and Mr. Terrific are the others in question.

Then again, that could also be a subtle hint given to there being a new Green Arrow in town, one whom I’m assuming to be Roy Harper. From the sound of it, we may have to get used to someone other than Ollie being under the hood for the foreseeable future because he may remain behind bars longer than expected.

Arrow returns for its seventh season on Monday, October 15 on The CW.
