The Walking Dead’s Scott Wilson Shot His Season 9 Scenes Before Passing

AMC has now confirmed that Scott Wilson shot his scenes for The Walking Dead season 9 before his tragic passing this weekend.

What was supposed to be a celebratory weekend for fans of The Walking Dead took a rather tragic turn last night when actor Scott Wilson unexpectedly passed away.

The news came just a few hours after he was confirmed to be returning for the show’s upcoming ninth season at New York Comic Con, and though we don’t know how exactly Wilson’s character Hershel Greene was going to factor into things just yet, it does appear that he’ll still be popping up at some point in the new run.

AMC has confirmed that the actor shot his scenes before passing away and though we presume he’ll show up in a dream or flashback sequence, like we said above, the details surrounding his return remain a bit hazy. Maybe tonight’s big season premiere will shed some light on things? In any case, we can also confirm that Hershel will appear in the first half of the season.

As mentioned above, Wilson portrayed Hershel Greene on the hit zombie drama, and though he was only around for few seasons before meeting a rather gruesome end at the hands of the Governor, he remains as one of the show’s more memorable characters thanks to the key part that he played in the story and the great work Wilson did in the role.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Scott Wilson’s family and friends at this difficult time and as soon as any further updates regarding his Walking Dead return surface, we’ll be sure to let you know. In the meantime, please feel free to share some of your favorite memories from the actor’s accomplished career in the comments section down below.
