This week, Mark Ruffalo took a break from his ongoing drama with the Russo Brothers to meme himself and his Avengers 4 co-star for a worthy cause.
While making his call to action, Ruffalo used an oft-shared photo taken a few years ago at San Diego Comic-Con, which sees the Hulk actor looking very surprised to see Ant-Man star Paul Rudd. In the tweeted image, the star has quite redundantly labelled himself as “Me” as he looks on in shock at a Rudd labelled, “People who say they aren’t voting in midterms.” To make his point all the clearer, Ruffalo added the following message:
“We must get as many people to the polls as possible: http://marchforourlives.com
(Sorry to meme you, Paul. Unless you aren’t planning on voting. Then DM me, thanks)”
This isn’t the first time that Ruffalo has used his Twitter account to spread this midterm message. Last week, amidst speculation over the title of the Avengers: Infinity War sequel, the actor offered the answer, “It’s Avengers 4: Register to Vote.”
At the moment, the star’s all too used to being interrogated by fans about the title. Earlier this month, the actor publicly admitted that he’d accidentally mentioned the official name for Avengers 4 while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Though the episode subsequently aired with the reveal bleeped out, it’s since been discovered that Ruffalo referred to the movie as The Last Avenger. And while fans remain skeptical about legitimacy of this ‘spoiler,’ that didn’t stop directors Anthony and Joe Russo from jokingly ‘firing’ their star.
At this rate, you can expect plenty more Avengers 4 drama from the accounts of Ruffalo and his colleagues until the film itself finally comes out on May 3rd, 2019.
