A source trusted by the site has offered some intel on Jon Favreau’s show, and it seems that the helmeted figure we saw in the project’s first official photo might be charged with protecting an imperiled child:

“I guess the Mandalorian encounters a baby on one of his missions that he is supposed to kill, but instead of that, he ends up saving it and a lot of the rest of the story revolves around their growing relationship and his efforts to keep the child safe and protected.”

While we’ve yet to receive official confirmation of this premise, it sounds like the Mandalorian’s journey could be one of redemption as he begins to question the ethics of his dangerous line of work. And since the show is set after the events of Return of the Jedi, there’s even been some speculation that the child might grow up to be one of the characters in the current Sequel Trilogy, though it seems far too early to take such theories too seriously.

In any case, set photos continue to surface online that paint a picture of the environment this story will explore. Various leaked images have already given us a taste of the human and alien characters we’ll be seeing in the area, including plenty of Stormtroopers, and even a few of the Death Troopers last seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Meanwhile, the casting news is still rolling in, with Nick Nolte reported just last week to be joining the team.

All in all, things look to be pushing forward pretty well for The Mandalorian, and hopefully we won’t have too long to wait before we get a better idea of when exactly the show will be landing on Disney Plus.
