Could Daredevil Appear In Marvel’s Black Widow Movie?

But here’s something to consider: what if there’s an opportunity for Charlie Cox to reprise his fan favorite role in a Marvel movie in the not-too-distant future? Specifically, the Black Widow solo pic that’s expected to be part of Phase Four, starring Scarlett Johansson and directed by Cate Shortland.

For starters, it’s clear that Marvel hope to make use of the ol’ Hornhead in some way despite the end of his series as we’ve had two different statements promising that he’ll return. Netflix assured fans that Daredevil “will live on in future projects for Marvel” as they called time on the show while Marvel themselves announced that there will be “more adventures with the Man without Fear in the future.”

As for why the Black Widow movie would be the perfect home for Daredevil on the big screen, well, Matt Murdock and Natasha Romanoff go way back in the comics – they were both lovers and partners in crime-fighting for much of the 1970s. Understandably, Cox has often discussed his interest in teaming up with Johansson in the movies to recreate that relationship. What’s more, the darker tone of Daredevil would gel pretty well with what will surely be a spy thriller movie.

Obviously, our gut reaction to talk of a TV/film Marvel crossover is to not get our hopes up as we’ve been burned so many times before. However, a major reason for it never happening in the past is because it’d be a logistical nightmare to schedule a major movie appearance for a Defender alongside their TV commitments. Well, Cox sadly doesn’t have those commitments anymore, so it’s now slightly more possible.

What do think, though? Could Daredevil show up in the Black Widow movie, rumored to arrive in 2020? Have your say in the comments section below.
