Michael B. Jordan Superman

Michael B. Jordan Becomes The Next Superman In Awesome New Art

Whether or not Henry Cavill is truly finished with playing Superman (my gut tells me he is), it's an absolute certainty that he'll one day be replaced. Really, ever since Kirk Alyn first ran with the torch back in the 1940's, a very exclusive club made up by the luckiest actors around have had the privilege to play the timeless icon.

Already, there’s been much talk surrounding Black Panther‘s Michael B. Jordan. In fact, a former Man of Steel in the form of Dean Cain supports such a change in status quo. But interestingly enough, Jordan, a fan of comics himself, wants to play Calvin Ellis of Earth-23, a Superman of color who also happens to be president. In other words, we’d get to see an alternate take that isn’t Clark Kent.

Speaking of which, we’ve come across yet another piece of fan art imagining Jordan as a Kryptonian powerhouse – though it’s not of him as Calvin Ellis. Instead, this handsome rendition by way of Daniel Savage shows him as Earth-2’s Val-Zod, whom I actually prefer. Here, take a look.

Like I said, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a mock-up of Michael in Val-Zod’s threads. But what puts the icing on the cake is that, each time, a handful of outlets refer to him as Calvin Ellis – and I’m just sitting here like, “read a comic book, guys.”

If we ever arrive at the point where Michael B. Jordan’s cast as Superman, then perhaps Warner Bros. would grant his wish of bringing Calvin Ellis to the big screen. But if I had my pick, I’d like to see him as Val-Zod, as stated earlier. At the very least, you have to admit that he has the cooler costume, right?
